Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
MyArk.pet (“the app”) is an iOS app for tracking the care of household pets, published by Gilles VALLEE, sole trader operating under the business name GVA Connect Studio, SIREN 107 647 638, registered with the Rennes Trade and Companies Register. Full contact details are provided in the legal information. For any question about this policy: contact@myark.pet.
2. App data
The app does not transmit any personal logbook data to the publisher. It works without a MyArk account, email address, or password.
The information you enter or generate (pets, meals, walks and their GPS routes, treatments, supplies, household members) is stored:
- locally on your device;
- in your personal iCloud space (via Apple's CloudKit service), to sync your devices and share the logbook with your household.
This data is hosted by Apple as part of your iCloud account, under your exclusive control. The publisher of MyArk.pet cannot access, read, or export it. The app also works offline.
3. Location (walk routes)
The Premium walk-tracking feature uses your device's location only during a walk you start and end yourself — never outside of it, never as permanent background tracking. The iOS location indicator remains visible for the entire duration of the tracking.
- The route is processed on your device, then stored like the rest of the logbook: locally and in your personal iCloud, visible only to the household members you have invited.
- Your location is never transmitted to the publisher or any third party — we have no technical means of accessing it.
- The permission requested is “While Using the App”. You can withdraw it at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy > Location Services, and delete a route by deleting the corresponding walk in the Journal.
4. Household sharing
If you invite household members, sharing relies on Apple's iCloud sharing mechanism (CKShare). Only the people you explicitly invite can see the shared logbook. You can remove a participant or stop sharing at any time from the app; shared data is then removed from participants' devices.
5. Notifications
Reminders (meals, treatments, supplies) use local notifications and, where applicable, Apple's CloudKit push notifications. They are generated from your own data and never pass through any publisher-operated server. You can disable them at any time in iOS Settings.
6. In-app purchases
Any purchases or subscriptions are processed exclusively by Apple's App Store (StoreKit). We never receive or store any payment data. Billing is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.
7. No trackers, no ads, no analytics
- No third-party advertising or analytics SDK is embedded in the app.
- No profiling, no data selling, no sharing with third parties.
- No cookies or trackers in the app.
Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymous usage statistics (downloads, crashes) if you have enabled sharing analytics with developers in iOS Settings. This data cannot identify you.
8. The MyArk.pet website
The website has no advertising cookie or third-party analytics tool. Its fonts and icons are hosted locally. It does, however, provide an optional professional account for breeders who wish to have their activity verified and published.
- The breeder area processes the representative’s contact details, legal business information, species and breeds, livestock and offspring profiles, births, scheduled protocols, weight, care and milestone records, individual health records and their attachments, internal compliance checks, operational capacities and unavailable periods, public profile content, and a password stored only as a secure hash. Protocols, timelines, checklists, capacity thresholds, care reports, health documents and internal identifiers remain private; offspring profiles and updates are published only when explicitly selected by the breeder.
- When submitting an application, MyArk sends the selected breeder the candidate’s identity and contact details, confirmation of legal age, living environment, general household composition, existing animals, experience, project, animal preferences and message. The breeder may then propose a specific animal; the proposal and the candidate’s response remain private and do not yet constitute a reservation. No acceptance decision is automated.
- The Future Household area lets users save and compare breeders and births, add private notes, view the status and immutable snapshot of applications, keep a reusable profile, answer a request for information, and withdraw a file. Favorites and notes are not sent to breeders. Administrators only see aggregated favorite counts without identifying future households.
- When a reservation is created, the future household can privately view the assigned animal, expected handover date, updates, weight records and photos shared by the breeder. This content is accessible only to the relevant breeder and the future household linked to the reservation.
- Secure messaging stores messages and optional attachments exchanged between the breeder and future household in connection with an application or reservation. They are accessible only to the two parties linked to the file and to MyArk administrators when required for security, support or handling a report.
- A breeder may store payment instructions for bank transfers or cheques and declare the agreed reservation total, instalments and amounts they consider received. This shared record is for coordination only and is not proof of payment. The IBAN, BIC, account holder, cheque payee and mailing instructions are encrypted before storage and shown only to the future household linked to an active reservation. MyArk does not process payments, store card details, certify receipt or receive funds.
- The breeder CRM calendar combines deadlines calculated from existing files with manual tasks and private notes. The breeder may create internal collaborator records containing a name, role, optional contact details, usual species and notes, assign tasks or care actions to them, and record who completed the work. The owner may invite a collaborator to create a personal login restricted by role. The invited address, role, invitation, acceptance or revocation dates, and actions performed are retained to secure access and provide traceability. This information remains private and is never published or shared with future households.
- The breeder notification centre calculates operational alerts from existing tasks, care actions, applications, reservations, capacities and access records. Each user chooses their categories and may mark an alert as read. Preferences, read states and digest delivery records are private, linked to the account and used only to organise the breeder’s work.
- The stock register lets the breeder retain product and consumable references, quantities, units, thresholds, relevant species, batch numbers, expiry dates, suppliers, locations, notes and movements. This logistical information remains private, is restricted to authorised collaborators and is neither a prescription nor certified accounting.
- For a birth alert, MyArk processes the email address and selected criteria—breeder, species, breed or variety and approximate location—solely to send matching new availability notifications. Alerts require email confirmation and every notification contains an unsubscribe link.
- Strictly necessary cookies secure the Breeder and Future Household areas. The Future Household cookie expires after no more than eight hours or when the user signs out. They are never used for advertising tracking.
- Verification documents are stored in a private area of MyArk’s OVH hosting and are accessible only to the relevant breeder and MyArk administrators. They are never made public.
- The public profile shows only information selected by the breeder after MyArk approval. The exact administrative address remains private.
- The breeder search uses only the criteria included in the page address—species, breed, approximate location, availability and keywords. They are used to produce results, are not linked to a visitor account and must not contain personal information.
- The shop may store references to favorited products in your browser’s local storage.
- The Film Library may similarly store the works you add to your favorites.
- The free tools may retain on your device the information you enter: pet name, household members, tasks, budget, checklist, emergency sheet, and temporary logbook notes.
- This page may store your selected language in the same local browser storage.
- This information remains in your browser, is not sent to MyArk, and can be cleared in your browser settings.
- Film posters and previews are provided remotely by Apple Media Services. Displaying a poster therefore connects to Apple’s servers. Video previews only start at your request.
- When you click an Amazon, Apple, CNIL, or other external link, that service applies its own privacy policy.
9. Waiting list and internal audience measurement
When you ask to be notified of the launch, MyArk processes your email address on the basis of your consent solely to confirm your registration and notify you when the app becomes available. Registration is confirmed by email and every message provides an unsubscribe option.
An unconfirmed request is automatically deleted after 30 days. A confirmed subscription or alert is stored on MyArk’s OVH hosting until you unsubscribe and for no longer than three years after the last contact. Unsubscribing immediately stops delivery and removes the email address from the alert. The website may also count strictly aggregated events, without cookies or persistent identifiers, to measure use of its main sections. These daily counters are deleted after 13 months.
To prevent automated submissions and preserve the reliability of these counters, the server temporarily uses a pseudonymized technical fingerprint of the network address. The complete address is not stored in these rate-limiting files; the fingerprint expires with the protection window and is removed during automatic cleanup.
Active breeder account data is retained for the duration of the relationship with MyArk and for no longer than three years after the last contact. A future household profile and its closed applications are deleted no later than twelve months after the last file, unless required for a pending request, legal compliance or proceedings. Verification documents are deleted after review and no later than twelve months after the decision, unless required for legal proceedings or compliance.
10. Your rights (GDPR)
Your logbook data remains under your control in the app and iCloud. For a waiting-list address, Future Household area or breeder-account data, you may request access, correction, portability, restriction, or deletion by writing to contact@myark.pet.
- Access and portability: your data is available in the app, on your device, and in your iCloud.
- Rectification: edit or delete any entry directly in the app.
- Erasure: delete data in the app, or delete the app and its iCloud data from iOS Settings > your name > iCloud > Manage Storage.
For any question or complaint, contact us at contact@myark.pet. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL — cnil.fr).
11. Children
The app collects no data and is not specifically directed at children. It contains no advertising or inappropriate content.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes (for example with a new feature), the new version will be published on this page with its update date. In the event of a substantial change to data handling, you will be informed in the app.
